Program

Assonance (WP) is a figure of speech consisting of the repetition of a same vowel sound in several close words. More generally one speaks generally of assonance in the case of a repetition of one or more vowels in a verse or phrase. The desired effect is, as with the alliteration, the highlight of a sonority and thereby a feeling or quality of speech. It aims the imitative harmony and in this sense it is very close to the onomatopoeia.

Christophe’s work is about acoustics, architecture and interaction. Working with written music as well as improvisation, Christophe will explore possible interactions between church organ and percussion in close relation with the acoustic of the church. Organ and percusion assonances will lead the musicians through the different pieces using metric and harmonic assonances‘ concept as figure of speech.
